Is Franchising Right for You?
A 15-Question Quiz Helps Answer the Question Most People Never Ask Out Loud
A short, structured self-assessment gives professionals a clearer read on where they stand — and what the honest next step looks like.
Most people who are quietly unhappy with their careers never say it directly. They keep going. Another quarter, another review cycle, another year spent building something valuable that belongs to someone else. The question — is there another way to do this? — stays internal, unexamined, and easy to postpone.
Franchise Match built its self-assessment quiz for exactly that moment. Fifteen questions, roughly two minutes, and a result that names where a person actually stands rather than telling them what to do.
What the quiz actually measures
This is not a personality test and it is not a screening tool. There are no wrong answers, and nothing in the quiz determines whether someone qualifies for anything. What it does is put structure around a set of questions people tend to circle without ever landing on.
The 15 questions move across four areas that consistently show up in conversations between professionals and their Career Ownership Coach®:
- Current career satisfaction — what Sunday evening feels like, whether the work is fulfilling or simply functional, and how secure the role really is.
- Income and equity — where the income ceiling sits five years out, and what someone has actually built for themselves at the end of each year.
- Autonomy and decision-making — how much of the calendar belongs to other people, and how it feels to be the one making the final call.
- Readiness and fit — appetite for a proven model over a blank page, comfort leading a team, relationship with risk, realistic timeline, and whether the people closest to them are part of the conversation.
Taken together, the answers describe a pattern. Not a verdict — a pattern.
Three results:
Every participant answers all 15 questions, and every score lands somewhere between 15 and 45. That range divides into three even bands, each mapped to a stage of the Education, Awareness, and Discovery framework that shapes how Career Ownership Coaching™ works.
The Education Explorer
Nothing is in crisis. Parts of the current career still work, and there is no urge to blow anything up — which is a strength, since the best ownership decisions get made from stability rather than desperation. But something brought this person to a quiz about owning a business, and curiosity like that rarely appears from nowhere. The recommended next step is the
Entrepreneurial Mindset Assessment.
The Awareness Explorer
The gap between the career someone has and the one they want is already visible — in income, in control over time, or in the absence of anything with their name on it. There is also a clear pull toward ownership without starting from scratch. What tends to hold this person back is not nerve; it is the sheer number of options and no reliable way to narrow them. The recommended next step is the Franchise Industry Assessment.
The Discovery Explorer
The answers here are unusually consistent. This person is not asking whether — they are asking which one, and how soon. They have weighed the risk, talked with the people who matter, and concluded that staying put carries a cost of its own. The questions ahead are specific and practical: funding capacity, investment range, what the first year genuinely looks like. The recommended next step is the Funding Your Franchise Assessment.
The word “Explorer” stays constant across all three results, and that choice was deliberate. No participant gets labeled as behind or unqualified. Each result simply reflects how far along a path someone already is.
What happens after the result
A conversation with a Career Ownership Coach®. which starts with you as a person, not with a business. Before any brand enters the discussion, the work is getting clear on what income, schedule, and life are supposed to look like.
Some people who go through the process conclude that ownership is not their path — and that clarity counts as a good outcome, not a failed one. A Career Ownership Coach® does not represent a brand and does not earn anything from the individual. Career Ownership Coaching™ is free from start to finish not a free first session, free throughout.
Two minutes, and a more honest starting point
The quiz will not decide anything for you. What it offers is a clearer read on where you stand right now and a specific, low-pressure next step that matches it — which is considerably more useful than another year of postponing the question.
Anyone who has wondered whether business ownership through a proven model deserves a place in the conversation can find out where they stand in about two minutes.
